Short bio/Community Involvement 
Dr. Takenaka is dedicated to advancing high-quality care for older adults, with a focus on quality improvement, nursing home medicine, and medical education. She serves as Associate Medical Director at Avalon Care Center, where she is involved in enhancing care delivery in the long-term care setting.

Born and raised in Hawaii, Dr. Takenaka brings a strong connection to the local community into her work. Outside of medicine, she is a member of the Honolulu Ki Society and has recently begun practicing Aikido with her family. She also enjoys staying active through running and surfing, embracing a balanced and community-centered lifestyle.
