Dr. Tamura is dedicated to training the next generation of physicians in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care for older adults. His work emphasizes clinical excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the development of practical skills needed to care for complex aging populations.
In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Tamura serves as Associate Medical Director at Palolo Chinese Home, where he supports the delivery of compassionate, high-quality long-term care. He is actively involved in community-based efforts to enhance geriatric care across Hawaii, contributing to initiatives that support older adults and their caregivers while mentoring trainees in both clinical and community settings. His commitment reflects a broader mission to improve the health, independence, and quality of life of Hawaii’s aging population
